About Risa

Risa Sarachan is a performer and journalist who has appeared in numerous films, theatre and commercials. She was the creator and host of “Inconvenient Interviews with Risa," a show she originated which has been regular content for the past three years on Zooey Deschanel’s HelloGiggles* website, recently purchased by Time. Risa has interviewed everyone from Kristen Wiig to The Rockettes. The show also generated invitations to conduct interviews at Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals, The Tony Awards and the Drama Desk Award Shows, and even a trip to London for Nat Geo to interview Ziauddin Yousafzai, Malala’s father, about their important documentary “He Named Me Malala.” She currently interviews artists for Forbes. Her latest project, Gulp Podcast, which she co-created and co-hosts with her dear friend Maureen Sebastian just wrapped it's first season and has been accepted into IFP's Inaugural Audio Hub.

Risa and Maureen were also commissioned to create a podcast for North Star Fund. This social justice fund supports grassroots organizing led by communities of color building power in New York City. They created A Guide to Freedom: A North Star Fund Podcast. Returning to her comedy roots, Risa has also started a podcast with her childhood friend Colin Summers called Risa and Colin Figure Out What To Do With Their Lives. Both can be found on Apple Podcasts.
